Mangoseed [Ska / Funk / Rock]

GENRE : Ska, Funk, Rock

Mangoseed are a South London-based Ska/Funk/Rock group, that deliver energetic live shows and a heavily eclectic sound.

Mangoseed are a band comprising of a Trinidadian, a Jamaican and a Australian.
Formed in 2008 by front man Nicholai La Barrie and guitarist Karlos Coleman,  Mangoseed  fuse funk guitar riffs and rock bass with a poetical hip hop lyrical delivery to create their own unique sound.Mangoseed are known for their highly energetic live shows and their eclectic sound, drawing from genres such as reggae and funk.
Their distinctive sound and live shows have earned them a spot supporting Alabama Three three times and most recently, supporting Grammy Award winner Micki Free on the first step of his world tour and opening for Manu Chao at Brixton Come Together Festival in 2012.
The new track from the UK’s Mangoseed, ‘Lucy’, is a mango-mashed psycho-beat reggae-fused ska-dipped delectable-danceable masterpiece if I ever heard one. As subtly as the track intros ‘Lucy’ then proceeds to never relinquish the drop and becomes 2:40 of sonic bliss simultaneously transforming into a percussive urban anthem to the masses and a rhythmic juggernaut destined to be placed on infinite repeat.
